Compassionate Inquire Sessions

Many people understand their patterns on a mental level, yet their body continues to react — through anxiety, shutdown, tension, exhaustion, or repeating relational dynamics. This work is for those moments where insight alone isn’t enough.

My approach is somatic and trauma-informed, working directly with the nervous system and the body’s held experience. 

Sessions are held in a relational, attuned space, informed by Compassionate Inquiry and nervous-system-aware practices. The intention is not to push transformation, but to support a more honest connection with yourself — allowing patterns to soften through presence, rather than effort.

 

The Compassionate Inquiry approach

My work is rooted in  Compassionate Inquiry®, a trauma-informed, somatic psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté

This approach is based on a profound understanding: many of the symptoms we struggle with — emotionally, relationally, or physically — are intelligent adaptations shaped by early experiences. These adaptations often live in the body, showing up as tension, constriction, suppressed emotion, or deeply held beliefs that once helped us cope. 

When there is enough safety in the therapeutic relationship, people can begin to sense and acknowledge what they once had to suppress in order to survive: the experiences they went through, the meanings they internalised, and the feelings that had no place to be felt at the time. Bringing these layers into present-moment awareness — including body states and implicit memories — allows something to soften naturally.

This can open the possibility for more choice, authenticity, and ease —  through understanding, presence, and honest connection with oneself.

WHAT BECOMES POSSIBLE

  • From feeling stuck in repeating patterns → understanding what drives you and creating change

  • From reacting automatically → having the space to pause and choose your response

  • From feeling overwhelmed → feeling grounded and able to hold what arises

  • From feeling triggered or shut down → feeling safe, present, and connected in your body

  • From living with underlying anxiety → experiencing more trust and inner steadiness

  • From self-judgment and shame → feeling at ease with who you are

  • From confusion and overthinking → clarity and a deeper sense of direction

  • From disconnection, distraction, or unhealthy habits → feeling present, connected, and in choice

Workshops & Events

Alongside one-to-one sessions, I also hold workshops and events centred around sound, voice, and embodied expression. These are group spaces to explore regulation, resonance, and connection through sound in a shared field.
